RCIA - Adult Faith FormationAlthough many Catholics have been raised in the Church and receive their Sacraments as children and teens, plenty of people feel called to join the Catholic Church as adults of all ages. No one is ever too old to become Catholic! St. Francis is proud to host an RCIA program for adults consisting of biweekly meetings from September until March, followed by their Sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass (Saturday evening before Easter).
Most individuals who have been baptized in a Protestant Church will not need to be baptized again, however this will be determined on a case by case basis. If Baptism is necessary, this will also be completed at the Easter Vigil, along with Eucharist and Confirmation. Classes will cover all the basic tenets and beliefs of the Catholic Faith so that each person may be sure that they both understand and embrace these teachings. We wish anyone who chooses the Catholic Faith to do so with full knowledge, acceptance, joy, and comfort in their decision, so that they may wholeheartedly join the Church with no reservations. For this reason, classes are mandatory, with the exception of extenuating circumstances such as illness. Adult candidates must also attend Mass a minimum of three times per month. Weekly Mass attendance is one of the greatest privileges and responsibilities of the Confirmed Catholic, and we would like our candidates to get in the habit of doing so as soon as possible.
